The Xbox One's sales momentum continues, with sales in the United Kingdom increasing by nearly 1000% week-on-week.
You can bet the release of the Xbox One S, both the 500GB and 1TB SKUs, is mostly to thank. According to sales aggregator GfK, the console's 989% surge
for the week ending September 24, 2016, has contributed to a 76 percent year-on-year increase.
In fact, the Xbox One ended the week with a whopping 71% share of gaming hardware sales.
The PS4 Slim went on sale in early September, but demand for it so far have been relatively low. The PlayStation 4 line had a market share of just 19 per cent in the week, and although sales were up 22 per cent week-on-week, they are down 66 per cent year-on-year.
Comparing the launch weeks for PS4 Slim and the 500GB/1TB Xbox One S, Microsoft's console were 361 per cent stronger.
We imagine buyers are looking pass the PS4 Slim and holding out for the higher-spec PS4 Pro in November. Are you one of those buyers? Are you surprised, possibly even impressed, by the Xbox One's recent performance? Make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.
