Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Is Good for Game Industry?

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist

One of the biggest bombshells dropped at E3 2015 was Microsoft’s announcement that the Xbox One will be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games, which is apparently good for the video game industry.

It is up to publishers to determine which of their last-gen games are backwards compatible with the Xbox One, and one French company -- Ubisoft -- seems to be completely onboard with Microsoft’s decision. In an interview with Gamespot, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility is really good for the gaming industry as a whole, believing that it will make it easier for them to introduce some of their renowned franchises, including Splinter Cell, to the current-gen and test the waters. That’s because not only can the games be played after downloading them via the game disc or digitally, but there is also a store on the Xbox One where they can be purchased -- the ones that are backwards compatible, that is. You will be able to play hundreds of Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One, and we get the feeling many of them will be from Ubisoft. What games do you want to be made backwards compatible?
