The Last Guardian has been in development since 2007, yet we've seen very little of the game in action. Even so, a new report claims it will be available only on the PlayStation 4. In a feature in Dengeki PlayStation, a Japanese gaming magazine that covers PlayStation video games, former game creator Fumito Ueda shared some details about the The Last Guardian, although he was very coy. Ueda left Sony back in 2011 but still has fond memories of the mysterious title, which he considers one of the most important PlayStation games he has ever worked on. When asked to share some of those memories, the game creator “Talks with Sony Computer Entertainment on The Last Guardian have been ironed out, and we’re making progress under completely new conditions,” suggesting that development of the game has moved to the PS4 and that it will be completed. Considering that the game was originally slated to be released exclusively on the PS3, what else could “completely new conditions” mean if not a new gaming platform, particularly the PlayStation 4? What do you make of Ueda’s statement? The Last Guardian is the spiritual successor of Shadow of the Colossus, hence why it’s so highly-anticipated. If you ask us, not only will the game see the light of day, but it will also be a PS4-exclusive given Sony's efforts to bring has many gamers over to its new home console as possible. It wouldn't make sense for it to be on the PlayStation 3, which is just old news.
