Mass Effect Andromeda Has Better Ending Than Mass Effect 3?

Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect 3 was a good game that disappointed gamers with its bad, poorly-executed ending, something EA and BioWare don’t want to repeat with Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Mass Effect 3’s multiple endings were criticized for rendering character choices made throughout the series inconsequential, for providing no closure despite the game’s heart-wrenching plot, for its lore contradictions and plot holes, for character and narrative inconsistencies, and for the absence of a final boss battle. It was so disappointing that BioWare released a free extended cut DLC to provide more elaboration.

The endings left such a bad impression that one fan went out of his way to ask BioWare on Twitter if Mass Effect: Andromeda would have a “happier ending,” to which Senior Development Director of the game, Chris Wynn, replied: “we will do what we can!”

Now, Wynn didn’t outright say Mass Effect: Andromeda will have a better ending than Mass Effect 3, but the fact that his team is working hard to deliver better material is a bit reassuring.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set in a different galaxy and features all new characters. As such, it’s not a continuation of Mass Effect 3 and isn’t tied to its story.

Let’s hope Wynn and BioWare succeed in delivering the total package, because the last thing anyone wants is a Mass Effect 3-like ending.
