When Capcom and Sony announced that Street Fighter 5 would only be for the PlayStation 4, owners of the Xbox One dropped to their knees and prayed it wasn’t true. Unfortunately for them, Capcom is adamant its latest fighting game will never come on the Xbox One.

In an interview with Gamespot, a Capcom representative removed all doubt that Street Fighter 5 is truly a PlayStation 4-exclusive, promising that it will never ship for Microsoft’s console. MUST SEE: New Street Fighter 5 Trailer Details Gameplay System This is what he had to say:
"One comment we see a lot is that something like a Super Street Fighter 5 is going to come out on Xbox. But the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run."
The partnership with Sony is very important to Capcom and will allow them to do more for the game, with the representative adding:
"We’re not talking about how we’re handling post-launch content, but I can say the relationship with Sony does open doors for things we haven’t been able to do in the past. The relationship serves a gameplay and development purpose, and not just a marketing value."
Where you one of those who prayed day and night for Street Fighter 5 to come to the Xbox One? Do you think exclusivity divides the potential audience for the game and fragments the fighting game community? Sound off in the comments below!
