Sony is reportedly working on a more capable PlayStation 4 that can run games at 4K resolution.
At GDC 2014, several developers told Kotaku journalists
that a “PlayStation 4.5″ console with increased graphical (upgraded GPU) and processing power. It will support 4K in order to better enhance the PlayStation VR game experience.
Some of the details are “vague”, with one source stating the console feels “exploratory” and, as a result, may not release in 2016. Sony hasn’t made anything official.
The PS4 currently outputs games at a maximum resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, although
It does support 4K for videos and photos.
On the other hand, the PS4.54K would run the games at 4096×2160 pixels, showing their graphics in even more detail than you probably imagined.
