Gamers and critics alike were in arms when it was revealed that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be an Xbox One exclusive, but they won’t have to be angry forever.
As it turn out, fears of the Tomb Raider
becoming an Xbox-exclusive series were unfounded, because Rise of the Tomb Raider
will only be a timed exclusive on the Xbox One, with developer Crystal Dynamics vaguely assuring PlayStation owners that the highly-anticipated adventure game
would be released on other systems.
They told gaming site Gamepur:
“We’re focusing on Xbox One and Xbox 360 here at Crystal, and that’s what we’re focused on right now. And anything beyond? We’ll come back to at a later date.”
As if you needed more confirmation, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer actually stated on twitter that Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive. Happy, PlayStation owners?

Both Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics have apologized for any confusion they might have caused, with the latter stating on the official Tomb Raider forums:
“For clarification, as we’ve previously announced Rise of the Tomb Raider will be a timed exclusive.”
