We have always found it odd how all the talk about Rise of the Tomb Raider has been about its single-player experience and not its multiplayer. As it turns, the game has no multiplayer mode, which could prove to be a turn off for many gamers.
The Official Xbox Magazine reports that in addition to being a timed Xbox One exclusive, Rise of the Tomb Raider
has no multiplayer at all, a surprising omission for a potential blockbuster title. All Games Beta
stated on Twitter:
“With multiplayer cut from the experience, Crystal Dynamics needed to make this core campaign as entertaining as possible.”
The multiplayer in the Tomb Raider reboot
was surprisingly fun. However, the fact that its successor, Rise of the Tomb Raider, has no multiplayer won’t bother me so much so long as the single-player experience -- the most important aspect of the series – doesn’t fail to deliver the goods.
Will you still buy Rise of the Tomb Raider even though it doesn’t have a multiplayer mode?
