On November 11, 2015, Capcom introduced the first playable Arab character in Street Fighter history. Rashid enters Street Fighter 5 with some serious acrobatics.
Well, while Capcom says he’s from the Middle East, the company didn’t confirm if he’s actually an Arab. Either way, Rashid is one of the coolest characters in the game, thanks in large part to a fighting style that combines parkour with unique ability that harness the power of wind.
Like most millennials, Rashid has a very keen interest in technology and gadgets. He’s always first in line to buy new tech, which he uses to research and develop his fast-paced acrobatic moves.
Unlike the other Street Fighter 5 characters, he has two V-Skills. The first one involves him performing a high flying flip over the opponent before following it up with a divekick at the press of a kick button.
With his second V-Skill (Rolling Assault), Rashid closes the gap between himself and the opponent with a quick front roll. Pressing kick during the roll results in him kicking upward at the opponent.
Finally, Rashid’s V-Trigger sees him throw out a slow-moving whirlwind that closes in on the opponent and causes damage when touched. He can use the whirlwind to increase his movement on any attack that propels him forward.
