Xbox One-exclusive Quantum Break has received its first gameplay trailer, removing the near total mystery surrounding the time-travelling action game.
Released at Gamescom 2015 by publisher Microsoft and developer Remedy Entertainment, the awesome trailer shows off Quantum Break
’s all-star cast, parts of its story, and a lot of actual gameplay.
The cast includes X-Men’s Shawn Ashmore (Jack Joyce), Lord of the Rings’ Dominic Monaghan (William Joyce), Game of Thrones’ Aidan Gillen (Paul Serene) and other Hollywood bigshots.
Based on time travel, Quantum Break
will make Albert Einstein smile in his grave and physics geeks go gaga. It is set around the fictional North Eastern U.S. Riverport University, where a time-travel experiment gone wrong causes time to break down and grants the three main characters the ability to manipulate time.
The gameplay takes players back to where time travel was invented, revealing of the time-based abilities players will be able to use. These include slowing time and creating pockets of dilated time. See for yourself...
To make Quantum Break
as true to physics as possible, Remedy Entertainment consulted a scientist lecturer who had worked at CERN when formulating a plot that adhered to current theoretical physics, and the results seem rather impressive. Let’s just hope trying to understand the concept of time doesn’t cause gamers to have brain hemorrhages.
Set to release on April 5th, 2016, Quantum Break
looks fun and interesting. Stay tuned to GameTribute for more details and videos.
