Konami has clearified the resolutions of each version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, and the Xbox One got the short end of the stick. Previously thought to run at a native 1080p on Microsoft’s console, PES 2016 is confirmed to actually run at a slightly lower resolution of 1360 x 1080.
Taking to Twitter, PES European Product Manager Adam Bhatti said:
“hi all, I want to update you on Xbox One resolution. We’re going to be just shy of native 1080p, to keep FPS and game quality high.
So to clarify = PS4 1920 x 1080, Xbox One 1360 x 1080, PS3 and Xbox 360 1280 x 720. Demo now available to judge for yourself.”

Despite the lower resolution, Bhatti says he’s “very confident no one will be able to tell the difference” between the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 / PC.
The Pro Evolution Soccer
series has long been in the shadow of EA’s seemingly imperious FIFA franchise, but Konami is very confident about PES 2016 closing whatever gaps may exist.
