Ever since Nintendo revolutionized the way we play games with the Wii and Wii U, may companies have been actively searching for novel new ways to wow gamers. Virtual reality (VR) gaming is on the horizon, but a revolutionary new controller might arrive first.
Pictured above is a prototype for the controller in question -- Talon! -- and, yes, it’s shaped like a ring.
The brainchild of Titanium Falcon, the Bluetooth device features two action buttons and can interpret the player's hand movements via a "9-axis motion control sensor." It is compatible with game consoles, mobile phones and VR rigs.
Titanium Falcon CEO Guo Juan said in a statement
"We believe our touch-less and motion controlled smart ring will change the way users play games forever. Talon will enable gamers to play games instantly at any place and time, free hand, while on the go. Users can play mobile games or control applications even when they are doing other things such as running, cooking, taking the bus and so on."
The company wants to raise $300,000 via crowdfunding and expects to price the Talon at $100. Will you fund it, and do you think there is a chance in hell of it becoming popular?
