Players who do not abide by League of Legends rules will not be ranked in online queues, says Riot Games. With many players cutting corners or disregarding League of Legends' online rules to develop their characters, the developer has been working hard to prevent such bad behavior. Its new Ranked Restrictions policy, which is currently being trial-tested on North American and European servers, takes ranking privileges away from online offenders until they have proven that they are willing to "keep it clean." Moreover, they will be blocked from every other queue chat. "With Ranked Restrictions now live-testing on NA and EU, restricted players will be unable to queue up for ranked until they complete a certain number of games in Normal Draft," Riot Games said in a forum feed. "One thing we specifically wanted to address is that Ranked Restricted players will be Chat Restricted in other queues, and they can and should still be reported if they continue to display negative behaviors while playing through their restrictions." These restrictions will be active until the Normal Draft period of play has been completed. After that, a final evaluation is made to determine if there have been improvements in the player’s in-game behavior. Those that insist on breaking the rules will continue to have their privileges revoked. In contrast, League of Legends “top notch” players will be awarded a ‘Ranked Rewards’ trophy for good sportsmanship: "Related to Ranked Restrictions, we’ve determined that Ranked Rewards should reward positive sportsmanship just as much as they reward great play, so the most negative players who are Ranked Restricted at the end of the season will be ineligible to earn ranked end of season rewards such as the loading screen borders or Victorious Morgana champion skin. While the majority of players will not be affected by this ruling, we wanted to message it well in advance so that players concerned about their behavior have more than enough time to adjust and reform before the end of the season." So there you have it, League of Legends fans -- either behave or have your privilege to get ranked in online queues revoked. It’s that simple.
