Windows 10

The release of Windows 10 introduced the ability for gamers to stream Xbox One games to their PC. It’s a cool feature that will undoubtedly sell quite a few Xbox One consoles, but it’s not without its problems.

Some users have experienced low quality and a generally inconsistent performance, issues that can be avoided by tweaking your computer’s settings. Courtesy of Reddit user OomaThurman, here is how you can get the highest possible quality stream:
  1. Go to C:Users%USERNAME%AppDataLocalPackages and locate the folder starting with “Microsoft.XboxApp”.
  2. Open the ‘userconsoledata’ file using the Windows Notepad app.
  3. Change the ‘IsInternalPreview’ variable from ‘false’ to ‘true’.
  4. Save and close the file.
Following all four steps should give you what you’re looking for. Windows 10 launched worldwide on July 29, 2015, completely free of charge for those who owned Windows 7 or above. It’s already being heralded by many as possibly Microsoft’s best operating system ever. Do you agree?
