Halo Nightfall protagonist Agent Locke has long been speculated as a playable character in Halo 5 Guardians, but it looks like he will play a more important role than originally thought. Mike Coulter, the voice of Agent Locke, has revealed that he will in fact be the main character in Halo 5. “Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you’re basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character,” Colter said in an interview with X-One magazine. “I’ll have some cool weaponry, and some cool abilities, because by that time I’ll be a Spartan IV.” The voice actor also dropped a few hints regarding the fate of Master Chief, whose been missing in action for quite some time. As it turns out, Locke will be tasked with tracking down the iconic super soldier in Halo 5 Guardians, though that may not be his only purpose in the game. He may be a friend or a foe of Master Chief, who might very well be found dead for all we know. “What’s not known, is whether I’m a friend or foe,” Colter added. “The relationship between Master Chief and Jameson Locke is going to be interesting. Because what’s the outcome? Is he dead or alive? Because that’s usually what a manhunt comes down to, dead or alive, but you won’t know what the purpose of finding Master Chief is [right away]. Or what will happen if we do find him, what condition he will be in, and where he’s at mentally. But I’m sure that’ll be a plot twist in Halo 5.” MUST SEE: Halo: Nightfall Trailer Revealed at Comic-Con The mentioning of Master Chief’s mental state leads us to believe that he still be alive, but that’s probably just us wishing he is in one piece.
