Full of action-packed fun, Forza Horizon 2 is arguably the most ambitious racing game to date. Built around social interaction, it is also the most social racing game ever made. Its massive selection of over 200 cars, sprawling open world and epic variety of events are sure to entice even the most hardcore racing game hater, but it will be its seamless multiplayer that will get you hooked. Like GameTribute does for most AAA video game titles, we have put together a detailed preview of Horizon 2, highlighting the major things you and your friends can expect before you dish-out your hard-earned money. Seriously, to say that this game is ambitious would be an understatement.
GameplayWhile single player will surely entice many players, the fun, beauty and freedom provided by Forza Horizon 2 are best enjoyed with others. The game insures that you are always connected to your friends, even when you're not playing multiplayer. Conversely, your friends' drivatars explore the open world with you, even when they are not online. You can challenge them to street races or follow them to hidden secrets throughout the world at your leisure, while rivals challenges and speed cameras let you compete with them asynchronously. At any point, you can pull up the game's map to see what friends are on online and what they are doing. One of the biggest grabs is the instantaneous multiplayer. When you decide to jump online, the transition is instant and seamless. Lobbies have been removed, meaning no more waiting -- that's right, no more waiting! Players who don't usually play online will find the process very easy, entertaining and friendly. As the most social racing game ever made, Forza Horizon 2 is all about community. You can create your very own club of up to 1,000 players. This club can be a private club for just you and your friends or a club used to compete against other clubs on the game's global club leaderboard. Forza Horizon 2 has 'Car Meets', which is a great place to go and socialize, chat and show off your custom liveries and tune jobs. If you're a really talented painter, you can enter a car meet and show off your designs. Anyone else at the meet can take a look and, at the touch of a button, download your design for his/her own car. There are two main ways to play online:
- Online road trip: You are taken on a tour of the world from destination to destination, with everyone in the session voting on where to go next.
- Online Free Roam: You and the people in your session do whatever you want. You can start races, play car challenges, hunt for secrets and collectibles together, or just cruise around. There are no rules -- the world and everything in it are yours to explore together.
