Dark Souls 3 didn’t have to be announced at E3 2015 for fans to get all giddy, but now that it’s officially heading to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, they should brace themselves for some changes for the hardcore fantasy RPG series, some very good changes...

Gameplay video of Dark Souls 3 reveal a game with a greater attention to detail than its predecessors. Character designs look notably better, with the bosses and their minions in particular looking extra spectacular. Apparently, this wasn’t just the result of ditching the last-gen console (Xbox 360 and PS3) entirely in favour of the current-gen systems (Xbox One, PS4 and PC). Series director Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed during E3 that his team has learned some tricks to make Dark Souls 3’s visuals really standout, stating:
“Dark Souls is well known for having very unique character designs, but we are trying go to the next level in Dark Souls 3.”

Combat has been streamlined, while the game world is much grander in scale and more alive than in Dark Souls 2. Dark Souls 3 is shaping up to be a truly epic adventure, and we can’t wait to play it.
