Microsoft might reveal a brand new Battletoads game for the Xbox One at GamesCom 2016.

Rash the Battletoad’s surprising cameo in the new Killer Instinct fighting game (pictured) made many gamers, including us, believe that Microsoft was cooking up something, and a leaked Xbox Store listing seems to indicate the Xbox One will indeed be getting a standalone Battletoads game.

Discovered by a Twitter user, the listing shows an upgraded Battletoads logo and a grainy description of the game. It also lists Rare as the developer.

From what little we can see of the description, it seems the new Battletoads will follow much of the same story as the original game, possibly making it a reboot of sorts.

Considering the original Battletoads was included in Rare Replay, it won’t be surprising if Microsoft tasked Rare with developing the game.

If the Xbox Store listing is legit, Microsoft will likely announce and reveal at GamesCom. What do you hope to get from a new Battletoads game?

Are you ready for the next big Star Wars Game?

Respawn Entertainment has finally revealed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and plans to have it ready by November 2019.

The reveal trailer is rendered in-engine and focuses on the story.
“Trust No One” is the overarching theme.

Like the The Force Unleashed, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-melee game that takes place after Order 66. You play as Cal, a fugitive a lightsaber -wielding, Force-endowed Padawan on the run from the Empire.

Respawn stresses that combat is an integral part of the experience. Each enemy will have a unique fighting style, requiring you to approach them differently and identify and exploit their weaknesses.

You’ll will have Cal’s Force Powers and various melee combinations at your disposal, as well as traversal and other platforming abilities to overcome enemies and solve puzzles.

In addition to the main character, we get to see his best-friend, a droid called BD-1; a mysterious companion by the name of Cere; and Second Sister, one of the Empire’s elite Inquisitors pursuing you.

Your adventure begins on Bracca, one of the brand-new Star Wars planet introduced in the game, where you will encounter droids, a number of familiar faces, various Trooper types and a slew of other interesting characters.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launches on November 15 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Pre-ordering it will get you “unique cosmetic content” for your lightsaber and droid companion.

Does The Next Assassin’s Creed Take Place In The Viking Age?

An Easter Egg may hint at a new Norse setting for the next Assassin’s Creed game.

An Easter egg uncovered by wiki user AlifMorrisonudin in The Divsion 2 could point to the Assassin’s Creed series moving from Norse mythology to the Viking age.

AlifMorrisonudin found a poster that depicts a Norse god wearing the Assassin’s Creed colors of red and white and holding an Apple of Eden artifact, another hallmark of the franchise.

Ubisoft has a long history of stuffing Easter eggs into its games that either allude to or even reveal upcoming releases. A Watch Dog 2 mission, for instance, unveiled new sci-fi game Pioneer to players.

What’s interesting is that the tease in The Division 2 is both subtle and in plain sight. There are multiple copies of the poster (some very large) scattered throughout particular parts of the game, yet who would have thought to look for the Apple of Eden in it?

Have a look at the poster in question, and let us know if it is indeed a revelation of a Viking setting for Assassin’s Creed or if we are overreaching…

The Assassin’s Creed series was rumored to be code-named Legion and set in ancient Rome at around 169 AD, particularly near the end of Marcus Aurelius’ reign. However, more recent reports claim it’ss code-named Kingdom and does indeed star Vikings.

Either way, Ubisoft hasn’t officially confirmed anything other than the fact that the next Assassin’s Creed will be released in 2020, so while the poster could be a hint of what’s to come, it could also be nothing more than a mere Assassin’s Creed Easter egg.

Where do you want the next Assassin’s Creed to take place — Ancient Rome or the Viking Age? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Mortal Kombat 11 – Why Should You Be Excited?

Published

TM Hair Fibers Ad

There is a lot to look forward to in Mortal Kombat 11.

As the creator of two Injustice games and the mastermind behind the most popular fighting game series of all time — Mortal Kombat! — NetherRealm Studios has built a solid reputation for developing compelling fighting games and continues to deliver quality time and time again.

The Mortal Kombat fighting games have been captivating worldwide audiences with immeasurable violence, blood, gore, incredible narrative, and of course, unprecedented gameplay ever since the franchise’s birth in arcades back in 1992. Mortal Kombat 11 marks a new chapter for the fan-beloved franchise, and there is certainly good reason to be excited about it.

The Story

Mortal Kombat 11 story revolves around a new antagonist named Kronika, who has the ability to manipulate time. In Mortal Kombat 11 players will be able to fight as past and present versions of Mortal Kombat characters, which should make up an interesting narrative.

The Official Story Prologue trailer gave players a glimpse at the direction designers took in MK11. In it, we see Raiden torturing Shinnok, something that’s very out-of-character for our beloved God of Thunder. Brace yourself for some serious conflict in Mortal Kombat 11.

MK11 Character Roster

The will be over 25 playable fighters in Mortal Kombat 11, including DLC characters

The Characters

As with any new Mortal Kombat game, there are many characters to choose from, including plenty of familiar faces and some newcomers. Mortal Kombat should feature at least 25 unique characters in game’s roster on launch, with additional characters coming as DLC content.

In addition to being the first to experience debutants such as Geras or Kronika, you will get to explore the the changes NetherRealm Studio made to Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Baraka,  Kano, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, and many other old-school characters.

Those who pre-ordered receive Shao Kahn as a playable character, while those who purchased the premium edition of Mortal Kombat 11 get the base game, plus a Kombat Pack that grants them six new DLC playable characters released over time and early access to DLC characters.

One of those DLC characters is Shang Tsung, who is voiced by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, the actor who played the iconic character in the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie.

Gameplay And Progression

Like previous installments, Mortal Kombat 11 will reward you with plenty of different game modes after you finish the main story. You will be able to play online, compete in various online ladders and so on. It also features a new campaign-style game mode called The Krypt, which will have you complete a variety of individual challenges in order to unlock rewards.

The long list of rewards includes a new progression system for every playable character in a game, similar to the one seen in Injustice 2; custom variations for every character;  the ability to create your own look for your fighter of choice; and a much of gear.

All things point to Mortal Kombat 11 becoming a great fighting game worthy of its legendary name. The game launches  on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 23rd, in May for the Nintendo Switch.
