System Shock Kickstarter Passes Funding Goal in No Time

Shodan - System Shock

The Kickstarter for the System Shock reboot has already reached its funding goal not long after it was announced the iconic game would get a fresh coat of paint and more.

Developer Nightdive Studios wanted to raise $900,000, but the campaign overtook that figure by raising $961,650 16 days before the Kickstarter’s end. The next milestones are at $1.1, $1.2, and $1.3 million.

If $1.1M is reached, Mac and Linux versions of the game will be made and Razer Chroma support provided. Localisation for multiple languages will be added at $1.2M adds, while $1.3M would allow the studio to expand the scope of the actual game, giving it a richer narrative and additional locations.

You can currently download a playable demo of the System Shock reboot or track the campaign’s progress on Kickstarter.
