Kinect has been so dreaded that Microsoft decided not to give the new Xbox One S a Kinect port.
The Xbox One S is 40 percent smaller than the original model, thanks to some nifty repackaging. The USB port has been moved to the front for easier access, as has the controller pairing button.
The dedicated Kinect port that was once at the back panel is no more, and all for the sake of making a much more compact Xbox One.
Xbox One S is still compatible with Kinect; however, you’re going to need an adapter to make the device work. Fortunately, Microsoft will make it easy for those who already own Kinect and plan to buy the One S by giving them a free adapter.
Otherwise, the adapter can be purchased alone for $50.
