Despite all the hype and marketing, Street Fighter 5 wasn’t able to beat Street Fighter 4’s week one sales, at least in the United Kingdom.
Street Fighter 4 debuted at No.1 on the UK sales chart when it launched on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 back in 2009. While SF5’s results might seem disappointing considering that there is a large fighting game community in the Northern European country, it is worth noting that the game only launched on the PS4 and PC and isn’t available on the Xbox One.
Street Fighter 5 has been met with much criticism, having launched with little single-player content and online play that didn’t work half the time.
All these issues will surely be addressed in June 2016 when the game finally receives a proper story mode and all technical issues have been fixed, but we can’t help but to think that serious damage has been done to its image.
Did you buy Street Fighter 5? If so, is it everything you hoped of?
