WWE 2K16 Gets Awesome Launch Trailer, Watch It Now!

WWE 2K16, Stone Cold

To promote the launch of WWE 2K16, 2K Sports released an awesome new trailer that will likely have many wrestling fans racing to their locale retail outlet to buy the game.

The trailer not only shows more gameplay, but also highlights the cool new features that WWE 2K16 has to offer. These include the three-man commentary booth, long list of innovative new moves, and seemingly limitless number of customizable elements that players can fiddle with.

Let’s face it, regardless of how good it is, WWE fans are going to end up buying 2K16 because it will be fun. Yes, whether or not it is plagued by the same problems as its predecessors, it has fun written all over it.

Fortunately, ‘fun’ isn’t its only selling proposition, although it is a very strong one. All the cool new gameplay additions, such as the ability to use the ropes during pinfalls and attack an opponent during their entrance; improved graphics and sound; and robust new features contribute to WWE 2K16’s allure.

Could this be the game that rejuvenates the franchise after the mixed reactions garnered by the previous year’s lacklustre effort? Only time will tell…

Have you had the chance to play WWE 2K16? If so, let us know what you think about the game in the comments section below.

The Borderlands Games, And Handsome Jack

The Borderland games helped define two generations of gaming.

Most gamers know about Borderlands in one way or the other, whether in passing or because of a strong desire to become the best gun collector,. You may play it for the story, you may like the characters, or you simply want to kill everything in sight in as many different ways as possible — no matter your compulsion, each of the three Borderlands games will give you a blast!

Now, what can we say that hasn’t been said already? Will you have fun with these games? Yes, absolutely, in fact, fun turns into a rather misleading word when it comes to this franchise in particular. Will you have freedom in this game? To an extent. Many story-driven games do not have such an open concept when it comes to gameplay compared to what Borderlands puts on the board.

This franchise offers plenty of aspects that help to create the feeling of freedom – from 4 playable heroes to millions of usable weapons, to how you approach the fight – and even with these in mind, Borderlands games cannot be regarded as an open-world release; and it’s for the better. The compact stories that go from title to title give a sense of roundness, and this feature is often lacking in the more open-ended titles.

Let us start at the beginning: Borderlands was released in 2009, almost a decade ago. And it still holds up! With the engaging story, hordes of enemies and the continuous race towards the prize, Borderlands carved out a place for itself in the hearts of many fans. There are at least two amazing, title-defining features in this one. First one is the art-style, exceptionally unique to Borderlands games.

Borderlands Vibe & Style

It might seem inconsequential at first gaze, but when most releases in the gaming industry try to polish their graphics, thus making them look as smooth as a movie scene. There’s something refreshing to see an echo of a comic-book style, accompanied by the whimsical details and outlines, all seemingly coming back to life right from your first glance. This original style became as much of a staple in Borderlands as the weapon system.

RNG Weapons

And even the first Borderlands game had a fair share of weapons! This brings us to the next defining element of the series: random weapon generator. The famed and beloved feature has become the main talking point when it comes to Borderlands games; there’s nothing more bonding than gathering your friends, grabbing a cup of coffee, and comparing which one of you was the most blessed by the RNG gods!

The More – the harder

The first Borderlands also offer a solution to the players who beat the game but still want more. To put it simply, the game raises the difficulty with each playthrough; so if you thought you will get to mow down the enemy and laugh at how pathetic they are, you will instead get to mow them down and laugh at how they are no challenge to you even when almighty. Borderlands games engine boosts them even further! And this rise in difficulty is applied to the whole system in general – your quests and DLC content also climb the ladder the more you play – endless fun!

Borderlands 2

The second addition to the series also keeps much of the same charm – only now you add a concrete villain in the mix. So, each time you shoot at some cannon fodder, you can imagine that smug face, till finally, you can put a bullet – or a dozen – in it too! The number of playable characters increased as compared to the first instalment of Borderlands games, so you can freely adjust the gameplay to your style. The greatly beloved sense of exploration returns, as some of the missions in Borderlands 2 now have multiple ways it may be resolved.

Weapons for Practicality

But the greatest change from the first is (once again) weapons system. While the randomness remains, there’s also the differentiation between the manufacturers of the guns. Depending on who made your weapon, its stats and features will be different. Thus, keeping a close eye on your loot and weighing your options is important here – or you can always just pick the biggest gun and see where that gets you!

Borderlands The Handsome Jack

Borderlands games also offer an extensive insight into the backstory of the villain from Borderlands 2, Jack. The game, wonderfully titled Pre-Sequel, follows him and his companions on their journey to become the tyrant… or gain vengeance of the evil Colonel, whichever comes first. The game employs many of the same systems as the second game in the series, but with a few minor additions. Basically, it’s a great continuous play when put together with Borderlands 2.

Borderlands 3

And this brings us to the latest instalment to the famed Borderlands games! Well, the following iteration is still in the works, but it still counts, probably even more. Borderlands 3 will feature 4 new playable characters, many of the previously known faces will return as NPCs (as is the tradition for the series by now), and the game boasts with the chance to travel outside of the enemy-infested Pandora as here, you’ll battle a horrendous cult and its leaders.

The combat system has been adjusted in accordance with the previous games’ success and many of the previous issues will now give players ‘longer’ fighting chance as NPCs can revive them and vice versa. Also, weapons will have an alternate fire mode, so imagine the possibilities with this one! The newest from Borderlands games, also adds new vehicles, new environments, new goodies and a lot more. It’s quite a paradise for the shoot-and-loot genre fans, truly. So, just ask yourself this: what more could you expect from a genre-defining shooter series? Nothing but excellence.

TM Hair Fibers Ad

Sony has updated its PlayStation Store refund policy.

Players that purchase digital content on the PlayStation Store now benefit from a 14-day refund policy that allows them to get their money back under certain conditions.

The 14-day refund applies to purchases of full games and add-ons (DLC) that you haven’t started to download, install or stream. If the content is “faulty”, as Sony puts it, you ‘may’ get a refund after downloading or installing it about are not guaranteed one.

PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, and Spotify Premium and other subscription services can be cancelled within the 14-day trial period. After that, Sony will deduct a certain amount of the subscription fee based on how much the service was used.

Gamers get more leniency and a simplified verification process.

Epic has updated the Epic Games Store’s return policy to make it more competitive with other digital storefronts.

With the old policy, you were allowed just two refunds per year, but now everyone has unlimited refunds within 14 days of purchase and with under two hours played.

The Epic Games Store doesn’t have a “self-service” solution, at least not yet, so you will have to go through Customer Support to request a refund.

A change was also made to the verification process for receiving a refund. Customers no longer have to provide their IP address, last four digits of the card used, account creation date, and other information if the return meets the set criteria, though a contact form will still need to be used.

Epic plans to add more regional pricing options to the store. There are currently 30 different regions available, encompassing a total of 130 countries.

Street Fighter V Supports PS3 Controller, Alex is First DLC Character

Street Fighter 5, crazy necalli

TM Hair Fibers Ad

For PS3 owners wondering what to do with their old arcade stick, here is some good news: Street Fighter 5 on the PS4 supports not only PlayStation 3 controllers, but also the console’s arcade sticks. Capcom has also confirmed that the first DLC character will be non-other than Street Fighter 3rd Strike’s Alex.

Street Fight 5 releases on February 16, 2016, for the PS4 and PC with 16 characters, while the story mode is set to arrive later on in the summer as a free update. It supports cross-play between both the PS4 and PC.

Capcom made the revelation via twitter, stating “We can confirm that Alex will be the first DLC character and he will be available in March!” in one tweet and “Additionally, the final version of #StreetFighterV (on PS4) will be compatible with PS3 controllers” in another.

Alex is part of a first wave of six characters that will be added to Street Fighter V in 2016, with the other five being Ibuki, Urien, Balrog, Guile and Juri. The exact order of their release has yet to be announced.

The iconic fighting game series went through some surprising hoops to get to where it is. A development partnership with Sony made it exclusive to the PS4 (sorry, no Xbox One love) and its beta had a rocky start.

Regardless, the game is primed for action and it looks more polished than ever. Is Street Fighter 5 a must get for you this gaming generation? Let us know in the comments below.

PS4, Xbox One Performing A Lot Better than Xbox 360, PS3

Xbox One and PS4

The PS4 and Xbox One are selling like the hotcakes, so much so that analysts at the NDP Group report they are performing relatively better than the Xbox 360 and PS3, and not just by a little…

Both current-gen consoles are selling at a faster rate than their predecessors ever did, having collectively outsold them by nearly 40 percent.

Analyst Liam Callahan stated the following on the matter:

“…after 23 months on the market, combined PS4 and Xbox One sales are 40 percent higher than the combined 23 month totals for PS3 and 360.”

While Callahan’s assessment only takes into account the U.S. market, it’s nevertheless a strong indicator of the success that both Microsoft and Sony are enjoying around the world.

Sony, in particular, is blowing the competition away with the PS4, nearly outselling the Xbox One 2 to 1 globally. The U.S. market has traditionally been a bastion for Microsoft, but even it’s being dominated by Sony.

Console war aside, the fact that both the Xbox One and PS are performing better than their predecessors is good news for gamers and for the wider video game industry. With games like Halo 5: Guardians, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4 coming out before the end of 2015, you can bet their sales momentum will only continue.

Minecraft Creator Regrets Being Rich After Selling Company for $2.5 Billion

Markus Persson, Minecraft creator

For many hard-working video game developers, the idea of building a successful game and/or business and then selling it for millions, if not billions, of dollars would be a dream come true; for Minecraft creator Markus Persson, it’s been misery.

That’s right, while it’s easy to assume that developers who make untold millions from their projects — let alone just one — will be happier living the good life rather than coding away from dawn to dusk, 8 am to 11pm, Persson regrets being rich.

Back in September of 2014, Microsoft purchased Mojang AB — the Swedish video game company responsible for Minecraft — for $2.5 billion, instantly making the Swede and his business partners some of the richest people in the world.

Persson didn’t join Microsoft in order to pursue other projects, and with so much money at his disposal, he wasted no time buying an opulent, $70 million Beverly Hills mansion, complete with a 2,500 bottle wine room, a candy room, and 15 bathrooms, among other big ticket luxury items. The big man even hosted crazy parties where guests like Selena Gomez, Skrillex and Tony Hawk sometimes made appearances.

However, as he old saying goes, money can’t buy happiness…. In a series of tweets, he indicated that he has never felt more isolated in his life, with his discontent largely stemming from feeling a lack of purpose and the general uneasiness about not having to work. One tweet read…

“The problem with getting everything is you run out of reasons to keep trying, and human interaction becomes impossible due to imbalance.”

Even a party paradise like Ibiza makes him feel lonely…

“Hanging out in ibiza with a bunch of friends and partying with famous people, able to do whatever I want, and I’ve never felt more isolated.”

Life without a job is apparently not all it’s cut out to be…

“In Sweden, I will sit around and wait for my friends with jobs and families to have time to do shit, watching my reflection in the monitor.”

You’d think girls would be glued to him, but even that’s not the case…

“Found a great girl, but she’s afraid of me and my life style and went with a normal person instead.”

With so much money and time on his hands, you’d think he would help out our poor little world or create another stellar video game…

“I would Musk and try to save the world, but that just exposes me to the same type of assholes that made me sell minecraft again.”

After a few back and forth exchanges with his twitter followers and the general public, many of who didn’t feel sorry for him, it seemed Persson came to the understanding that all his feelings are quite normal for those who instantly became rich…

“People who made sudden success are telling me this is normal and will pass. That’s good to know! I guess I’ll take a shower then!”

Maybe it’s because he’s an extreme introvert trying to live the life of an extrovert that he feels so isolated…

“I really appreciate all the offers to hang and talk and all. As an introvert, new friends is hard to do even when fine, but it means a lot!”

However you look at it, Persson needs to sit down and reflect on what really matters to him in life. We have no doubt that some of his skills and wealth will find his way sooner than later.

Frankly, as an introvert myself and a struggling businessman, I would love to be in his shoes. Wouldn’t you?
