Turkey Says Minecraft is ‘Too’ Violent, Wants it Banned
Turkey wants to ban Minecraft for supposedly being too violent. If your reaction is “WTF!” we know how you feel.
Frankly, we can’t imagine how a game like Minecraft could ever be banned, but Turkey’s Family and Social Policies Ministry seems to have found a “good” enough reason and is looking to prevent children from getting their hands on the open world game. A portion of their report issued to the country’s legal affairs department read:
“Although the game can be seen as encouraging creativity in children by letting them build houses, farmlands and bridges, mobs [hostile creatures] must be killed in order to protect these structures. In short, the game is based on violence.”
The ministry believes Minecraft could lead children to confuse the game world with reality, potentially resulting in them torturing animals without clearly understanding the pain they are inflicting.
If that argument sounds ridiculous to you, that’s because it is. If Minecraft is “too” violent, then Super Mario Bros. is the extremely violent horror game sociopaths have always prayed for.
The ministry’s effort to have the game banned has strong political undertones, if you ask me, as if Turkey’s government doesn’t want children growing up to question its sometimes restrictive policies. Either way, it’s all absurd.

This Is Mortal Kombat 11’s Official Cover, What Do You Think?

It’s familiar, but different; simpler, but engaging.
Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has revealed the official cover art for Mortal Kombat 11, and its of little surprise that it only features Scorpion.
Compared to Mortal Kombat 10, the overall design is brighter and simpler, featuring a yellow, hot background that surprisingly works well with Scorpion’s yellow outfit.
Scorpion’s pose is imposing, and its interesting that NetherRealm chose go with the more modern version of the character rather than the classic one that appeared in the reveal trailer.
Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23, 2019 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

Epic Games Store New Return Policy Allows Unlimited Refunds, But…

Gamers get more leniency and a simplified verification process.
Epic has updated the Epic Games Store’s return policy to make it more competitive with other digital storefronts.
With the old policy, you were allowed just two refunds per year, but now everyone has unlimited refunds within 14 days of purchase and with under two hours played.
The Epic Games Store doesn’t have a “self-service” solution, at least not yet, so you will have to go through Customer Support to request a refund.
A change was also made to the verification process for receiving a refund. Customers no longer have to provide their IP address, last four digits of the card used, account creation date, and other information if the return meets the set criteria, though a contact form will still need to be used.
Epic plans to add more regional pricing options to the store. There are currently 30 different regions available, encompassing a total of 130 countries.

Half-Life 2 Co-Writer Eric Wolpaw Has Returned To Valve, But Why?

What could Valve be working on?
After leaving the company in February 2017, Half-Life 2 and Portal co-writer Eric Wolpaw has returned to Valve.
Shack News confirmed the writer’s return after finding his name listed in the credits for Valve card game Artifact. This would mean Wolpaw joined sometime in the fourth quarter of 2018.
Jay Pinkerton, another writer that left with Wolpaw, has also returned to the company, but it’s not known what the two are working on.
Whether its the rumored Half-Life VR or some other project, for Valve to successfully entice two of its writers back into the fold, it must be working on something exciting.
What are the chances it’s Half-Life 3?
