Haters of the Sony PlayStation 3 DualShock can finally put that controller away. Thanks to a system update, the PlayStation 4’s more desirable gamepad can now be used wirelessly with the PS3.
The 4.60 system update for the PS3 was meant to “improve system software stability during use of some features.” Those looking to use the PS4 controller with the console can do so through the Manage Bluetooth Devices selection in Accessory Settings.
While the compatibility is convenient, it is not perfect. When connected, the PS4 DualShock will register as a generic wireless controller, so game compatibility will not always be of the utmost quality. The controller can still be used via a USB connection.
