Every Last Bullet Counts in The Evil Within – Watch This Trailer

The Evil Within

Bethesda has released another gameplay trailer for The Evil Within, reminding us of just how scary the horror game really is. Playing as detective Sebastian Castellanos, you will have your hands full with evading and fighting your way through some truly hideous and evil creatures that want you dead at all costs.

To be successful in this hellish adventure, you will have to choose your battles very carefully and know when to run and when to fight. As good as you may think you are at these kinds of games, taking a Rambo approach will get you killed.

The terrifying world of The Evil Within is alterable, offering players with different paths to take and locations to uncover depending on their actions. You will be able to use medical items to restore health, which will sometimes cause hallucinogenic effects like seeing imaginary Hannibal Lecter butchers. But, hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to stay alive, right?

“Making your way through The Evil Within is no walk in the park. In order to survive, it’s important to learn how the game’s systems can play in your favor. Taking advantage of resources, managing ammo, and simply knowing when it’s time to run away can help stave off death for a moment longer,” Bethesda explained in a blog post.

The gameplay trailers touches on those ever-so-important systems, demonstrating how to stealthy take down creatures, how to avoid in-game traps, and how to be creative and turn obstacles into assets. The game’s safe points, known as “Asylums”, provide refuge to upgrade your abilities, weapons and inventory, which you will undoubtedly need to progress through the hellish adventure.

As Bethesda puts it, “you’ll need more than bullets if you’re going to make it out alive.”

The Evil Within was made for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Watch the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think about the game so far.
