Like its predecessors, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare comes with a long list of achievements that will keep gamers playing for hours. The first-person shooter is described as the most complex Call of Duty yet, offering the best possible experience on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and especially PC (check out the required specs). You can get it for the old consoles — Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 — but you will sacrifice a lot in the way of quality, while those that only own a Wii U will miss out on the experience all together.
Reveled by IGN, there will be more than 45 achievements initially, with more being added with future DLC. The complete list — will be updated as more achievements and trophies are released — is as follows:
- A New Era: Complete the campaign on any difficulty.
- Carma: Kill an enemy by throwing a car door at them.
- Hard Hitter: Complete the campaign on Hardened difficulty.
- Excellence in Everything: Complete the campaign on Veteran difficulty.
- Never Saw it Coming: Boost jump, dash forward, then air stomp on an enemy.
- Escape Artist: Avoid 20 grenades by dodging with your Exo Suit.
- Loud enough for you?: Kill 10 enemies or drones while affected by a sonic blast.
- Maximum Overdrive: Kill 50 enemies while using Overdrive.
- Genius: Kill 4 enemies with a single smart grenade.
- Threat Detected: Paint 10 enemies with a single threat grenade.
- Fly Swatter: Knock 25 Drones out of the sky with EMP grenades.
- Where Are You Going?: Stop an AST with an EMP grenade.
- History in the Making: Collect over half of the Intel.
- Ferrum Absconsum: Collect all the Intel.
- Riot Control: Kill 20 enemies while linked to the Mobile Cover Drone.
- Advanced Soldier: Spend your first exo upgrade point.
- Second Skin: Spend 10 exo upgrade points.
- We Have the Technology: Spend 20 exo upgrade points.
- Power Changes Everything: Completely upgrade your Exo.
- Seoul Mates: Complete “Induction.”
- Not on my Watch: Prevent the walking tank from being destroyed by the Drone Swarm in “Induction.”
- Deadeye: Score “excellent” in the shooting range in “Atlas.”
- Grenadier: Score “excellent” in the grenade range in “Atlas.”
- Welcome to Atlas: Complete “Atlas.”
- Look Both Ways: Kill all the KVA in the traffic section without shooting a civilian vehicle in “Traffic.”
- Life in the Fast Lane: Complete “Traffic.”
- Fire and Forget: Kill 10 enemies with the Mobile Turret missiles in “Fission.”
- Radioactive: Complete “Fission.”
- Motor City: Complete “Aftermath.”
- Wheelman: Finish the hoverbike sequence without hitting any walls or obstacles or taking damage in “Aftermath”.
- Sitting Ducks: Kill 3 enemies with one shot of the Sniper Drone in “Manhunt.”
- Born to Die: Complete “Manhunt.”
- Betrayal: Complete “Utopia.”
- Party Crasher: Kill 20 enemies with the Grappling Hook in “Sentinel.”
- Crates on a Plane: Complete “Sentinel.”
- The Destroyer Returns: Complete “Crash.”
- Restricted Airspace: EMP 10 enemy aircraft out of the sky with the hovertank in “Bio Lab.”
- Irons in the Fire: Complete “Bio Lab.”
- GG: Complete “Collapse.”
- Man Overboard!: Melee an enemy so they fly off the side of the ship in “Armada.”
- Wrath of Atlas: Complete “Armada.”
- Flying Ace: Shoot down 10 enemies with machine guns in “Throttle.”
- Manticore Unleashed: Complete “Throttle.”
- Heavy-Handed: Go through 20 gun drops in one-armed combat in “Captured.”
- The Wheat from the Chaff: Complete “Captured.”
EA Says Old Console Cycles Were “Painful;” New One Better
At the Nasdaq 35th Investor Program Conference, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen praised the mid-generation console refresh being carried out by Sony and Microsoft and condemned the old console cycles as “painful”.
The executive pointed out that in previous console cycles investors always tried to identify the peak earning period, seeing as moving from a generation to generation involved huge expenses to upgrade.
The fact that consoles were also highly customized didn’t help matters — each iteration of the Xbox and PlayStation were very different mainly as a result of being built on customized chipsets that were difficult to program for in the early years of their release.
And then there was the issue of compatibility between between cycles, which forced gamers to stop buying games for the older consoles…
According to Jorgensen, EA cut down the number of game engines from 25 to only two in a effort to control the high costs of developing for drastically different platforms, but games were still not compatible across generations.
The situation is of course different today, with both Microsoft and Sony releasing micro-upgrades more often, allowing for more compatibility of games with previous generations.
That’s to say the market now looks a lot more like a traditional PC market than the specialized console market of yore, which Jorgensen believes is “great for the industry, great for their [Sony and Microsoft’s] production, great for software costs, and great for the consumers.”
Consoles will still continue to get more powerful, making older software less appetizing, but “the whole notion that investors had of the cycle is gone away.”

PSVR Will Sell 750K Units in 2017, Fewer Than Expected
One analyst that expected Sony to sell a around 2.6 million units of the PlayStation VR in 2016 now estimates that the company won’t even sell half of that.
Revised 2016 sales forecast for the PSVR by SuperData Research, a market research and analytics firm, reveals that Sony’s virtual reality headset will shift fewer than 750,000 units by the end of the year, a far cry from earlier estimates.
SuperData conceded to its overestimated of the PlayStation VR’s performance at retail, adjusting its forecast accordingly. Its report stated that “notably fewer [PSVR] units sold than expected due to a relatively fragmented title line-up and modest marketing effort.”
The company, however, remains confident that the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift will sell 420,108 and 355,088 units, respectively.
