Rockstar’s next game will have amazing, “state-of-the-art” graphics that will undoubtedly impress, as revealed by a company job posting for a Graphics Programmer.
Specifically, Rockstar San Diego, the studio behind critically-acclaimed Red Dead Redemption, is looking for a talented individual to “develop new and enhance existing graphics technologies (rendering, lighting, shadows, shaders, culling, scene management and others) to help achieve state-of-the-art visuals.”
This person will also “work with others to expand our next-generation graphics pipeline including advanced lighting and rendering techniques, and special effects.”
In addition to a Graphics Programmer, Rockstar is looking for a Network Programmer to address “open-world game elements,” as well as a Gameplay Program to help with “densely populated worlds” and bring the “best combination of realism and responsiveness.”
Whatever the developer is cooking up, it will be huge and graphically impressive (as expected, of course). A successor to Red Dead Redemption has not been confirmed, but we bet that’s what they are working on. The original game sold more than 13 million copies, meaning there is a lot of money to be made.
