All Destiny Players will Receive a Free Legendary Item

Developer Bungie has decided to treat all Destiny players to a special gift in the form a free Legendary Item. If it’s the Christmas present they promised back in December 2014, it’s long overdue.

Even so, a free in-game item is always appreciated. Bungie says it’s a “small, but Legendary token of gratitude,” possibly for all the hours gamers spend playing the game. Regarding what it could be, the developer hinted “No Bjallarhorns. No need to decrypt, either, though we’re sure some gifts will be swiftly dismantled.” It will definitely not be an Engram.

A number of speculations have been thrown around in a heated debate on the Destiny subreddit, with one user believing it will be a Ghost Shell “because it’s small.” Another user thinks it could be the Legendary Sparrow EV-32 Snowblind, which was added to Destiny during the 2014 Halloween update.

What if it turns out to be a new weapon or armor?

According to Bungie, the Postmaster will let you know when the gift is available for pick up.

China Blocks Twitch Website And iOS App

You can no longer access the Twitch website and Twitch iOS app in China, at least legally.

Twitch has confirmed that the Chinese government has blocked all access to its platform in mainland China.

The development comes on the heel of the Twitch iOS app reaching the third spot in the iTunes free apps chart, with the surge of popularly mostly owed to eSports and especially the Asian Games.

Although the reason for the ban wasn’t revealed, the fact that Twitch was the only way for Chinese fans to follow the event was what likely made it a target for the Chinese government.

Twitch now joins a growing list of major websites to be blocked in the world’s video game market, a list that includes the likes of Google, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Considering that some of the Steam Community features are also inaccessible in China, it probably won’t be long until the main Steam store is also banned.

Valve has been taking preemptive measures should it also meet the same fate, having partnered with a Chinese publisher to launch a localized version in the country.

The Witcher’s Voice Actor Wants To Work On Uncharted

Published

Geralt of Rivia Thumbs Up

Uncharted is not the only series the gravelly-voiced actor behind Geralt of Rivia is interested in.

As a video game actor for nearly two decades, Doug Cockle has definitely left a mark on gaming, however small the mark, especially in the hearts of The Witcher fans. Yet, despite all his experience in games, movies, television shows, and even on the stage, he has never worked in motion capture.

“I have yet to get into a motion capture suite,” Cockle told VG247 in an interview. “It’s something I really want to do – it’s on my bucket list.”

All his voice acting for the The Witcher series was done in the recording booth. He’s actually never met the actress who plays Yennefer, and only met Triss’ actress while passing in the corridors between their sessions.

“I’d love to be part of the Uncharted series,” he said, joking that it would also be a lot fun being in Tomb Raider but just not as Lara Croft for obvious reasons.

He expressed great interest in “getting in bed” with the developer of What Remains of Edith Finch, an interactive graphic novel that he things is beautifully done.

Either way, considering his quality performance in the The Witcher series, Cockle (you can follow him on Twitter) will be a great addition to any developer’s team. Dust imagine what he can deliver in a mocap studio.

What game would you like to see him in?

Animal Crossing Switch

No more rumors — Animal Crossing is coming to the Switch.

After gutting disappointments at E3 2018 and subsequent Nintendo Directs, Nintendo has finally confirmed that Animal Crossing Switch is gearing up for a 2019 launch.

Details are pretty scant — all we got is “Animal Crossing” for a title — but we can expect Tom Nook to return and, hopefully, at least a visit from all, if not most, of the other characters when you use their Amiibo figure.

Watch the announcement trailer, and let us know what you hope to see in Animal Crossing Switch…
